Move from disempowered to empowered through trauma therapy in Houston, TX

Is past trauma negatively impacting how you show up in the in the world? You find your self shrinking, hiding, avoiding people, place, and situations. Unresolved trauma can have us feeling disempowered, stuck, or hyper-vigilant. You are tired living from a place of trauma.

We also acknowledge trauma on a macro and micro level. For example collective trauma, historical trauma, and generational trauma impact on your wellbeing since they shape the world we live in today. Macro level trauma: war, armed conflict, genocide, colonization, slavery, political instability, etc. Trauma on a microlevel: abuse, neglect, medical experiences, loss, separation, accidents, and disasters. You may have had one or both of these traumatic experiences. You need tools and resources to navigate to the discomfort of unresolved trauma.

"Trauma decontextualized in a person looks like personality. Trauma decontextualized in a family looks like family traits. Trauma decontextualized in people looks like culture”— Resmaa Menakem

  • Nightmares

  • Difficulty sleeping

  • Feeling constantly on edge

  • Leaning on substance use to cope

  • Self harm

  • Poor self esteem

  • Difficulty with maintaining healthy relationships
